This event will be an intimate discussion with Fulbright scholar Kait Szydlowski on her work concerning children with cerebral palsy in rural China. She will start with a brief introduction to her work, followed by a discussion.

BIOGRAPHY
Kait Szydlowski was on a Fulbright Scholarship researching social welfare provision for children with cerebral palsy in rural China. Affiliated through Beijing’s Renmin University Department of Sociology and Hefei’s Chunya Rights into Action for Youth with Disabilities NGO, Kait spent months interviewing and surveying families in northwestern Anhui province to better understand the health care provisions, rehabilitation and special education programs, and government subsidies available to children with cerebral palsy and their caretakers. She will be sharing with the group her experiences and key trends in health and social welfare provisions for disabled children.
